Ground Zero At the end of Harrison Street along the Hudson River heavy equipment worked. We had temporarily moved in a few blocks from the site while the authorities removed a Brinks truck loaded with gold. Suffocating in the basement office with too many clients I would occasionally surface like a mole looking for some fresh air only to find the toxic polluted dust and smoke from the site. I would walk down and watch the heavy equipment scope the dirt dumped there by large pick up trucks one after another coming from the Trade Center. The debris was then loaded on barges and taken to the Land Kill where it was sorted out for body parts, personal belongings anything that could identify part of anybody. It was so brutal the murder of all those people. I would stand with the NYPD and just watch. They would wipe tears with the sleeves of their uniform shirts.
