I sat at a long portable table, when a grumpy older man in a brown wrinkled sport's suit sat down in front of me. He was livid because he had a top floor apartment and the police in his words had destroyed his roof garden. As I let him talk to calm him down, he told me that the authorities had ruined his garden because they were looking for body parts, and had broken his expensive flowerpots and a lovely miniature Carrara marble statue. It was obvious that the man was in shock and that it was controlling his behavior. He told me that in the process of the search, the officers had discovered two arms tied together at the wrists. I was so shocked that whatever he said after that, I don't think I heard.
